After the entire project, I can finally answer that all the time and effort spent on sanding, priming, etc are definitely worth it. Yes, it’s painstaking and time-consuming journey but at the end of the day when I see the finished article and think back about; I can give myself a pat on the shoulder & tell myself; it’s a job well-done. Never mind the inadequacies & flaws that are showing right, they are lessons to be learn & reminders to myself on what should be done and avoided in future. By the way, the lighting at the moment is inadequate but will have to make do for now. I plan to do a re-shoot when I get the light tent done when I have time. Also, I may have to temporarily suspend my airbrushing activities till I find an acceptable solution to the dust & paint issues. I just didn’t work out right, even after shifting the equipment to the bathroom. It was with the bright sun that I was able to see the extent of the fumes covering the entire kitchen o.O”.. Sorry for the late reply being really busy with work. Great work there, very clean & neat job. I loved this pose best for your SD 00 Gundam

    @sepul,

    I used Mr. Color 47 - Clear Red (Gloss/Primary) to paint & make the transparent Red forehead colour. Hope it helps :)

    hi there.. wanna ask.. how did u make the transparent Red forehead colour? is it an accesorry? or did u paint it that way?

  • Vaye
    posting them in just a moment
  • @Vaye.

    congrats on your completion, did you post photos of your completed work online?

    The legs were the toughtest for me, had to do lots of masking. :s

    00 MSs tend to grow on you as time passes. Yeah, if masking can't be done neatly, it's better to leave it and just do the panel lines.

    I just finished BB 00 Gundam too
    The hardest parts for me were the legs and the swords
    because it was the first time i had to draw lines on paint
    i am really happy with the end product tho

    now i am starting exia, which i think is going to be even more of a pain in the ass
    for the drawing lines on paint

    I didn't paint the entire gundam like you tho, like leaving the blue as blue, white as white, looks cleaner imo
  • @Blade,
    thank you! :)
    I wouldn't say it's flawless though; the shots just happen not to feature them in super close-ups, where they all start showing up.
    Nonetheless, really appreciate your continued support and encouragement.

    @Gordon,
    As Blade has mentioned the twin GN-Drives are mounted on the shoulder, and pivot to the front, side, and back of the shoulder in this instance of SD version. Really odd coming from Bandai's side; did they omit the joints to save themselves some trouble?

    @evolution,
    I see, thanks for the suggestion. my room unfortunately is facing the common corridor/walkway that is shared with my neighbours. Trying to get a spray booth to solve the problem, till then I'll have to temporarily suspend my airbrushing session unless I succumb to temptation of course :)

    @lelangir,
    thank you. :) So you have stopped doing them anymore?
  • Blade
    Told you it would turn out nice!

    Overall, it looks like you never screwed up.

    Flawless.

  • looks good. but why is the 2 GN drives on the shoulder? shouldn't it be on the back?
  • Good job! I gotta haul my lazy bum and continue with mine. My solution to the fume issue is to paint right at my window outwards. I happen to have a fan several metres away blowing in the same direction which might help a bit.
  • Very cool, good job! I remember seeing some Gundam model commercials on TV a loonggg time ago and they were cool, but I never really got into models (a few airplanes here and there but nothing much).
