The long-awaited Worms Open Warfare 2 has finally been released recently with new stuff added, such as enhanced graphics, landscape creation tools, and mini-games.
Three mini-game modes has been added exclusively to the DS that make use of DS’s unique features; the microphone, Stylus, and touch screen. The first allows players to aid their worms hang on to their parachutes while avoiding obstacles by blowing into the mic. While the other “involves tapping on the Touch Screen to create explosions to blast the worm to safety, or it’s certain doom.” While the last game mode by drawing with the Stylus, gives players the power to modify the landscape in battle.
Team 17 has assure fans that this installment has set a much higher standard in both content and quality as compared to the old. “It’s not even a step forward, but a giant leap into new content.” as quoted by Team 17.
New features included in this new installment are:
-Over 70 uniquely designed single-player levels (including an awesome new Puzzle Mode),
-Full customisation of worm names, skins, gravestones, voices, team names and flags,
-A shop to buy new items, maps and game levels,
-Custom Deathmatch, Forts or Race modes on custom landscapes which one can either against the AI or against other people,
-Multiplayer games which can be played as either pass around, local WiFi or online via Nintendo WFC and
-Online matchmaking against Friends, Rivals or complete strangers, with dozens of serious and fun leaderboards.
11 new weapons has been added to Worms Warfare, such as the classic “Super Sheep” and much-loved “Concrete Donkey.” Aiming to expand the Worms’ arsenal, one example of the serveral new items,the “Electromagnet” can attract or repel weapon and landmines has been introduced in this new installment.
Gaming online seems to be done with much more ease this time around. Worms Warfare 2 also provides players with the option to battle against non-friends. Lastly, there’s no worry about lag, as Team17 is “pleased to report” that no lag problems have surfaced.
So if ya itching to get the game, run down to your nearest game store or order it online now and slug it out with your friends online or over wifi to see who is the better worms player, with the new ranking and leaderboard where you can boost to your friends.
