An account of Gundam 00 Episode 1 Spoiler by someone who caught the premier showing.

THIS IS AN EPISODE 1 SPOILER
What I can tell you first; Expect an action-packed debut episode when it starts airing.

The prologue entails some “mobile suits” tearing up a desert city. I don’t know which suits they are. They look kind of tieren-ish but with machine guns attached to the front of their bodies via some kind of arm protruding from the front. They’re not “specifically” listed on the Gundam00.net site. They move somewhat slowly compared to previous gundam series, though the torso is capable of rotation much like a tank turret. The suits seem to be blaring religious retoric while they gun down pretty much anything on the ground. A child who looks like Setsuna is among those on the ground who are running from the machines, though he is armed with a machine gun himself. He and some on the ground fire at the MS’s but to little effect. While the rhetoric blares, the child mutters that there is no God (or something to that effect). After a bit of running, one of the suits finally has the kid cornered, but just before the shot to kill him comes, the arm holding the machine gun on the MS is shot from above. The camera pans up to reveal a “Gundam” in mid air, levitated by the cone in the rear which appears to spin to provide lift. The camera pans back and the gundam appears to have “electric” wings.I think the opening starts here. The opening music is by L’arc en Ciel I think.My mind gets foggier from here so you’ll have to cut me a bit of slack ;p
Elsewhere, a demonstration in front of military personnel is underway with the demonstration version of the AEU’s ENACT mobile suit — I think it’s piloted by PATRICK KORASAWA. It shoots out a bunch of stationary target planks and does some aerial maneuvers while the Union’s GRAHAM ECKER(??) talks to another man in the crown. It seems to be a fairly nimble mobile suit. Without much warning, an “unknown” mobile suit descends from the sky (from the direction of the space elevator) to everyones surprise and lands in the test ring. It is soon discovered that all communications signals have been nullified. The suit is what everyone in the forums already understands to be the EXCIA (exia??). The ENACT attempts to attack the EXCIA, with what appears to be a sonic knife. It seems to be powerful enough to make the crown wince when it’s powered up. The EXCIA cut’s the kife wielding hand off of the ENACT. Upon another charge, the EXCIA dismembers the ENACT with it’s rather large blade in a series of chopping motions — leaving the pissed off pilot and his machine to fall to the ground. GRAHAM uses a pair of binoculars to attempt to find out which faction the machine is from or what the name is. The only marking on the machine is the word “GUNDAM”. The conical device protruding from the back of the EXCIA then begins rotating and the EXCIA attempts to escape as it begins flying back in the direction of the space elevator and up into the sky. It is quickly pursued by a handful of MA transformed Non-demonstration versions of the ENACT.
In space, the Ptolemaios and crew is shown on screen for a bit. I think they comment that something has “begun”. The KYRIOS (and ALLELUJAH HAPTISM) launches from the PTOLEMAIOS (the linear catapult appears to be in the nose of the ship) to pursue a team of space ver. TIEREN with missles who’s target appears to be the bridge of a space station. At the same time there is a ball (a party) on the station attended by WANG LIU-MEI (LIU-MIN in the char profile, this may be incorrect) and a cohort (HONG LONG) comes to tell her that something has begun.
Back on earth, EXCIA is fending off some of the ENACT suits by cutting into them. It seems to also be armed with a small beam gun which it fires into one or two of the ENACT’s. A series of strong beams fire from below and the camera pans down to the ground to reveal the DYNAMES lying on the ground among some large rocks with its (sniper) rifle pointing upward, picking off ENACTS one by one. LOCKON STRATOS appears to be its pilot accompanied by an orange HARO.
In space, the KYRIOS in *waverider* mode (looks quite like the zeta I must say) takes out a couple of TIEREN and their missiles before it can hit the “bridge” of the station. One TIEREN makes it a bit too close to the bridge, but before it can do much of anything, the gundam VIRTUE pops in from below. Upon drawing its large cannon, it vaporizes the remaining TIEREN with a large beam.
This last action was caught on camera from the ball (the party) by a camera man and is broadcast on earth. The camera then shifts to Tokyo (a very futuristic one) where the news is underway. The news broadcast then shows a video from “a representative?” of CELESTIAL BEING. The final shots are of various people commenting that “it’s begun”. Finally of Setsuna and Lockon outside of their suits.
The ending music is by the BACKHORN.
You’ll have to forgive me, as the order that everything happened after the fight with the EXCIA and DEMO ENACT may be a bit out of order in my head. A lot of people where at the premier and it wasn’t easy to see the screen as the fellow in front of me was quite large. The BG music seemed appropriate though it doesn’t seem to fit with any previous gundam series. The animation was good and the camera work during the dogfight with the EXCIA was pretty nice. Despite the lack of wings, the EXCIA seems to move really well in the air. Also, the DEMO ENACT (at least) appears to have a 360 x 360 panoramic monitor, with the seat being the major blindspot.
