Sony has just released a PSP Zeon custom. Basically, it’s PSP-Slim. It’s color scheme mimics Char’s Zaku II and performance-wise, is just as similar; it loads 3x as fast.
The front is dark red, unlike the Deep Red version that was released last December. Another difference is the buttons, are solid black unlike the clear buttons on the recent releases of the PSP Slim & Light (PSP2000). Lastly it’s back is black, complete with a Zeon logo and label.

awesome, thanks so much, i called Playstation US, and they told me the same thing about the US PSPs. Glad to hear it’s normal, although i don’t understand why we can’t choose to play it on the 4th level if we don’t mind burning our battery in 30 minutes…

ARIS,
Sorry for the late reply, really tied down with work lately.
Actually regarding your problem, it is not a problem at all. What you are experiencing is normal. In fact, I used to own a PSP myself in the past.
The brightness level of the PSP is able to set to the 4th level of brightness (i.e. brightest level) while it is plugged to the power point. However, once taken off it will revert back to the 3rd. Therefore, if you want to play at the brightest level (i.e.4), your PSP would have to stay plugged to the power point. I hope this explanation ease your fear that your PSP is defective.
If you’re still in doubt, you can always check your manual or ask around in the game forums

I just bought this and i have one complaint. When it’s plugged in, I have 4 brightness options. When it’s NOT plugged in (i.e., PORTABLE), the brightest display is no longer available, and the screen dims down to the third level. What is that?????? Can anyone help? Is this a defect? Or is this normal? I know this is not normal for the ice silver PSP version. IS there anything I can do?
