Bad news! Plamo & hobby supplies price hike
First, there was announcement on impending price hike for gunpla (Gundam-Plastic model kit) beginning from May onwards. Now, it seems that the same thing is going to happen to hobby supplies.
New packaging it seems, & new pricing as well. damn!
According to Ngee Khiong, Mr. Hobby has reported that their price for aqueous paint series will be marked up around Mid May. And the new pricing for each bottle of the paint will now be 150 Yen (exclusive of tax), up from the old price of 120 Yen.
At the same time, it seems the company is also revising the pricing for their airbrush set and other equipments as well according to the report here.
Bad news indeed for plamo/gunpla hobbyists, as if the initial plans for Bandai’s gunpla price hike is not enough, hobby supplies are now also getting the same treatment.

With crude oil price now at almost 200 US dollars per barrel and with Gunplamos made of plastic (oil-based materials) of course a price increase is expected. What more, price on alcohol-based glue and paints also increased due to the rising crude oil prices.
What can we do? Cut down on purchasing useless Gunplas, Save for RAINY DAYS, that is.
