Follow up to the rest of 47th Shizuoka Hobby Show. We’ve come to the Master Grade(MG) for RX-78-2, yes it’s RX-78-2 Gundam (again..) and this time it’s Version 2.0! Before this, we already have RX-78 Gundam OYW (One Year War) version, RX-78-2 ver.ka (Version Katoki), RX-78-2 ver.1.5 and the original RX-78. So the Version 2.0 is the 5th RX-78 we’re getting from the Master Grade (MG) line to date.

It shall be forever remain as a mystery to me, that why do they even bother making a clear version of gunpla when it’s looks so ugly no matter how you look at at.

RX-78-2 Ver.2.0 ready to kill!! (making another killing at our pockets, that is..)

hey! there’s 6 “RX-78-2″ in total ! which of it did it actually slip of my mind? Can you name all 6? better yet, naming them all in order.
Lastly, how many of RX-78-2 variations have to gotten so far? Embarrassingly, I’ve have none so far ^^’ still pondering whether to grab the OYW version or version. Katoki. Any recommendations?

@J,
I too sure your sentiments. Going by the way Bandai do their business, I believe there’s a possibility of a MG RX-78-2 OYW ver.2.0 release in the future though not anytime soon. But the RX78 2.0 Master Grade stays true to the original look and for folks who want the old animated series look.

This RX78 2.0 Master Grade is not enough.
They should have just made the RX-78-2 OneYearWar as poseable as this RX78 ver 2.0, with the Core fighter also removeable;
with two Bazooka Cannons, two Gundam Hammer chain balls with real long chains and real metal balls with metal spikes, four lazer swords, one long Gundam Javelin. Don’t forget to include the launch pads.
It is not perfect. RX78 version One Year War looks way better, of all versions RX78 OYW looks the best.

@PG_VP,
thanks for the update on the release sequence, does seem to be in the right chronological order.
@Alan,
Yeah, I actually prefer the OYW version.
@Eyeshield30,
I guess it’s a matter of individual preferences. I’m pretty sure that this kit is out and on sale already for quite some time.

if you like the old animation series look, forget the rest, just get the version 2(I like it), unless you like the PS2 version then OYW is a solid one.

I believe that it starts from ver 1.0, MG Perfect Gundam, ver 1.5, ver Ka, ver OYW, then finally ver 2.0.
Of course, I may be mistaken, and I am definitely getting this model kit when it comes around my area.
