The list below is complied by Winterheim on the difference/changes of Gundam 00 compared to Gundam Exia:
Stuffs which I speculating on the Gundam 00’s design:
- The 2 sharp ‘things’ pointing downwards just below the hip should be the basic weapons for Gundam 00, i.e. beam sabers. The Gundam Exia or Gundam Astraea, if I didn’t remember wrongly has something similar. right?
- The 2 GN-Drives on the shoulders seems more likely to be attached to the backpack instead of directly to the shoulders on the first look at it.Making me think that, there’s a possibility that the backpack could actually be a ‘core fighter’ like RX-78 and Impulse Gundam’s core splendor. At a second thought, I believe Gundam Plutone also has a ‘core fighter’ system.
Hence, in the scenario where the Gundam is damaged beyond operational level, the backpack could be ejected and escape with its 2 GN-cores.

What do you think about the design of Gundam 00? and the likely ability/weapons that it’ll possess?
I think 00 Gundam’s ability will not be lowered after the usage of Trans-Am system because there was 2 GN-Drive. Also, the green orb in the chest has gone, that means it doesn’t linked to VEDA. So, no interruption from Livonze. The output power must have increased, so maybe it can use various type of weapon.
look kinda crap but i remember the first images of exia looked crap so over time i’m hopeing the designs will be improved.

Dear Jaques, is it just me or do you also think that “placing GN Drives on parts that could be easily cut off” is an issue with mecha design?
I don’t think 00 have two GN drives because the two core won’t fit the shoulder and that part isn’t GN drives, it could be an part to emit GN particles or act like a thruster.
And about the ability, 00 don’t lock like it ’s going to have attracted weapon like virture and the design lock really closed to Exia and Astraea so it will focus with additional weapons like GN sword, riffle…… or whatever CB named that weapon. I hope that there will be more Gundam appear in ss2 because with long horns on 00 ’s head, it look like a commander unit.
If I had to venture a guess I’d bet those things on the shoulders are the next generation GN drives. That would explain why they are smaller than the one that was ejected from the Nadleeh in episode 25.
Also I wouldn’t be surprised if they could also be used as energy sheild emiters that would work like Dynames shoulder mounted sheilds. That would explain why they could swivel around the shoulder.
It might still use something like the Exia’s GN sword/rifle weapon. But probably also a much wider array of weapons as well.
Also they might have come up with a way to keep it from shutting down after using the Trans-Am system. Like when it goes into Trans-Am mode it only uses one GN Drive that way when it comes out of Trans-Am mode the other GN Drive could take over and allow the gundam to continue fighting without shutting down.

Nice concept with only one of the GN-Drive activated in Trans-Am mode, with the other on standby. Hence resolving the problem of Gundam becoming a sitting duck after the Trans-Am mode expired.

What if meant was“placing GN Drives on parts that could be easily cut off” is actually an added advantage,a plus point. In the case where the Gundam is heavily-damaged, they could eject, taking their important top-secret GN Drive with them.
Although weeks late, I feel compelled to reply and rebuttal the above predictions concerning 00 Gundam. As a foreword, I make my arguments based on the canon episodes of Gundam 00, subbed by Conclave-Mendoi, and not on side-story, be it manga or light novels(Gundam 00P).
The first thing that comes to mind is the argued is the ‘two solar furnaces on shoulders’. No doubt in my mind that this prediction has no possibility of being true.
My logic and evidence:
-Solar furnaces require the atmospheric conditions of the planet Jupiter to be be constructed.
-Celestial Being wouldn’t be as protective of their GN Drives if they could just create new ones.
-Celestial Being wouldn’t have been so shocked to see the Throne series and GN-X series with furnaces.
-Celestial Being wouldn’t be having problems fitting Gundam 00 with a solar furnace, if it was as easy as creating a ‘Next Generation’ of GN Drives.
-Episode 25 @ 17:08. Tieria ejects the GN Drive, the cone section happily floats off while the actual Solar Furnace can be seen @ 17:11. The cone is used for channeling particles.
Where does this leave us? Gundam 00 has one Solar Furnace, the cones attached to the backpack are thrusters. All Drive equipped suits have a cone shaped thruster, including suits with Tau Drives. Although it is plausibility they can used to generate a GN field, I can’t recall any instances of a GN field being generated out of a cone, for example Virtue has vents to release GN particles, and by all means correct me if I’m mistaken.
Where is the Solar Furnace then? At the core of Gundam 00’s chest.
This is my speculation, but Gundam 00 was designed during Schenberg’s life time and Celestial Being are built it with those plans. Because, such an intricate plan and predictions wouldn’t be so accurate if the variable in there was Celestial Being designed suits. Some may argue but Lockon refers to Exia’s equipment as experimental, but as with all Gundam series’s that come to mind, the Gundams are always referred to prototypes because they are not mass-produced.
Ribbons has control over VEDA. So, the new series of Gundams would be either connected to the Ptolemaios copy of VEDA, or more likely in my opinion, a copy of VEDA that Nena made, plausible because Celestial Being appears to be using Trinity’s unnamed mothership as a base, episode 25.

Things tend to blow up when cut off in the Gundam universe. Not to say that it’s a static fact(Blitz’s arm in GS) But, really even if it didn’t explode, it would freely float off into space until it was collected, by who knows who. The Furnaces are at the Gundam’s core because if the core is destroyed the Furnace is destroyed with it. No worries that it will fall into enemy hands.
I’m probably speaking to an empty crowd, since I’ve replied this late, and maybe new information has been released. I’m just basing my argument on what I see here, and what I know. By all means, correct me if you can provide evidence that contradicts what I’m arguing.

that gundam 00 looks pahreti sahweeet. i think i like this one better than the avalanche exia, the avalanche exia looked a bit top-heavy with its shoulder mounted gn drive stuff. i think this one looks better, sleeker and etc.
it doesnt look like the arms have the vulcan pods anymore though unless they pop out or somethign..but setsuna barely used the vulcan pods on the arms anyway
the legs look a hell lot like the strike gundam in my opinion…why cant they put the gn beam sabers on the backpack or somethign like the rx78-2?
btw is it really called gundam 00 doesnt it have a different name, like Gundam ______ Exia?
Looks a lot closer to conventional designs than the first season’s Gundams. The first season just seems to me like the untold origin-story of any other Gundam series. Right after e25, it felt like the series was just starting, that the last season was only setting up the real story, and developing the characters into their full forms for a restart.
Imagine if MS Gundam had started before Amuro found the Gundam, and we got the backstories on Char (Lt Acre) and half the rest of the cast. The first season set up the blond-guy-with-mask, character grudges, Newtypes, and Earth Federation. How do we know that the colonies aren’t going to rebel in this season, or the rest of UC won’t show up in some form?

can’t point out others English and make typos myself now can I being raised English lol.
till now I still like Exia better because it has more Kurdish feel to it, and also more spiritual and philosophical (the Seven Swords thing, Trans-AM, and the “NO god but GUNDAM” thing)….which fits Setsuna’s wild experience-based belief.
naw twin drive still needs to recharge after trans am
either trans am lasts longer or it makes the gundam so much stronger
