
This year’s annual competition for Singapore Bandai Action Kits Universal Cup, (BAKUC), will be held in conjunction with AFA 2008; from 22 to 23 November at Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Shortlisted entries will get a chance to be sent to Hong Kong to take part in the finals, held in conjunction with the annual Gundam Expo.

The competition is divided into 3 main categories; Open, Junior & Expert. More details on the prizes and participating information & judging criteria are listed below:

(Age :15 years old and above) Birth on or before 1993
1ST PRIZE : $500 Cash, Round Trip to Hong Kong to Participate in the Final Competition & Trophy
2ND PRIZE : $300 Cash, Trophy & Product Hamper Worth $200

Presentation BASE
1. It is recommended to include a base for each model kit entry.
2. Please ensure that the model kit is secured tightly to the base.
3. Maximum size of base: 40cm x 40cm
4. Any diorama or modification made on the base will be judge under ‘Creativity’ (please refer to judging criteria).
MODEL KIT
1. Participating model kit must be from original Bandai Model Kit Gundam Series.
2. All grades and scale are allowed except unless otherwise stated.
3. Modification parts such as B-club hands will be accepted.
4. Full resin and conversion kits will not be accepted.
5. Only 1 model kit will be judged for each base. Any additional model kit which is included (such as battle damaged) will be judged under ‘Creativity’ instead (please refer to judging criteria).
6. Maximum height of Model Kit (including base): 50cm

1. Contestants who are participating for the first time in the
Singapore Bandai Model Kit Challenge will be eligible for the ‘Best New Challenger Prize’. This prize is opened to both Categories. Please tick the ‘New Challenger’ option in the entry form.
2. Participants may submit more than 1 entry.
3. An official entry form and barcode must be submitted for each submission (no receipt is required).
4. Participants must include photos or pictures with front, back and 2 side views of their participating entry. All pictures must show the full view of the model kit as well as the base.
5. It is recommended to submit good sharp photos for preliminary judging.

On sidenote, beside the BAKUC competition, May’n (May Nakabayashi), the voice behind Sheryl’s songs in Macross Frontier, will also be performing ‘live’ ( performing at least 7 songs & an autograph session though exact details are still being worked on ) at the inaugural AFA (Anime Festival Asia).
