With the results of the Singapore Bandai Action Universal Cup 2008 to be announced in another week at AFA 2008, I bring you all a sneak peek at some of the participating entries in the competition that caught my eye. Shortlisted entries will get a chance to be sent to Hong Kong to take part in the finals, held in conjunction with the annual Gundam Expo. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us A very nicely done MG Shin Musha mod; complete with realistic bow & arrows, plus steed (courtesy of SRW Aussenseiter in Pferd mode )Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Shin Musha mod viewed from another angle. The V-fin is replaced with Dygenguar’s Image Hosted by ImageShack.us MG Qubeley [evolved type] by Toymaker Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This Destiny Gundam monument by Kyori is also another fav. Do also check out his Freedom Gundam, the 1st one of the monument series which he started. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Exia - Black Soul from Pazu Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This clean-looking Exia has great detail too, pity there’s no photo of it from another angle. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Someone reproduced this Conversion kit: Armored Gundam Exia , which was previously covered in Hobby Japan. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This Strike Freedom’s pose struck upon me as odd-looking from this camera angle. Seemed to be saying, “oh crap! I messed it up again” (No offense to the contestant who submitted this) Image Hosted by ImageShack.us The famous “Char kick” Gundam style - Anyone can identify the Gundam in the above pic? Is it a Re-GZ in another color scheme? Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This 2 H’gok trashing the GM (above & bottom) Hy’gogg are my favourite diorama. The in-sequence action is accurately & realisticly reproduced in gunpla form. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Aftermath of GP-02 and GP-01Fb after their epic clash Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us TV set showing Nu Gundam in the final scene of Char’s Counterattack pushing away the meteor from earth. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Perfect Zeong Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Candid moment of SD Sangokuden, Ryuubi Gundam & Koumei Re-GZ having BBQ Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Strike Noir Image Hosted by ImageShack.us This V2 Gundam bust is my personal favorite. My only wish is that Bandai will eventually release a Master Grade version for it soon enough. Almost every series has its protagonist Gundam released in MG form, with the only exception V & V2 Gundam (and of course the recently released Gundam 00). Which of the above kit(s) and diorama(s) is your personal favorite? And do you too wish for a Master Grade V/V2 Gundam kit from Bandai? Or have you had previously participated and won in a similiar competition? Share your picture & experience with us. Check out the entire gallery over at Singapore Bandai Action Universal Cup 2008.

  1. @mauz20,
    really sorry for the late reply and that I do not have a high-res original copy of the image that you wanted, you may have to try to do a google image search for that picture.

  2. mauz20

    oops! this is weird… i thought i commented on the gurren lagan article, not this one… but thanks for the pic :)

  3. @mauz20
    hi, the original source I got from was 646px × 616px wide. didn’t see any larger picture of it. But there’s another one from different angle, thought was kinda spoilt by the len flare near the eyes.
    here’s the link below:

    @randomguy,
    yea, the unicorn was great but let down by its poor joint.

  4. mauz20

    the last pic would make a nice wallpaper. do you happen to have a copy that’s around 1440×900 or such?
    thanks!

    I’d buy it if it had polycaps. Seriously, I like the transformation of the Unicorn and all, but the joints just piss me off.

  6. @gordon,
    haven’t gotten the time to head down there myself. Probably drop by them at the AFA this weekend.

    @Loba,
    yea. Strike Noir is one, if not the most badass & cool looking Gundam in the Seed timeline.

    @Nomake Wan,
    thanks for the reminder, totally slip my mind on this one. It’s lackluster TV-rating is probably the main reason why it did not receive the MG launch. If I remember correctly, someone mentioned that it was supposed to be a 50-52episodes season show but got cut down to 39 after a poor showing, as a result of a change in its time-slot.

    Gundam X also has no MG kits, much to my extreme disappointment. Considering that it’s appeared in GvG and Gundam Musou 2, though… I’m gonna go ahead and guess that it will be very soon that V or V2 will appear in MG form.

    ;___; Garrod…

  8. Strike Noir looks cool. Can’t see the strike freedom pic though.

  9. i went down to ngee ann today and saw the entries on display. the destiny monument is very well done and is one of my favourites, plus shun musha as well.
