Banpresto Desktop Head Display
Friday, October 2nd, 2009
The Banpresto Desktop Head Display sets, first released in 2008. T the series consisted of four sets, each set containing four display units.

The following sets below are groups in rows:
Set 1 : RX-78, Wing Zero, Impulse Gundam and Gundam X
Set 2 : Zeta Gundam, God Gundam, NT-1 Alex and V Gundam
Set 3 : Nu Gundam, GP03, ZZ Gundam and Turn A
Set 4 : RX79G, Devil Gundam, F91 and Strike Gundam
According to ToyMaker’s review, during his trip to Hong Kong, he visited several stores in search of these Banpresto Desktop Head Display sets. And it seems that these items were really in demand. Majority of the shops have either sold them out or raised the price of their remaining stock by marking them up 2 times of its original price. Despite all these, he was able to still grab a few of them for himself and other enthusiasts.
His initial expectations of the display sets were not very high since the price was considerably lower than its G-System counterparts. But he was proven otherwise when he first opened the package, the moulding was quite accurate in terms of proporation and shape. And it is actually possible to remove some parts easily for colouring if necessary.
While G-Systems display head sets have very good detailings and LEDs installed, the details on the Banpresto units are kept at a minimum with no LEDs as well.
With the fillers done, let us move on to the main stars of the show. Below is a showcase of a collabrative effort between member from plamo.outhere and Zero-G forum:

On a side note, I’ve made some changes to the site over the past few days. I will fill everyone in with the new changes and additions that I’ve added at a later time.
Woah… I can’t remember how long i have not been able to access this site…
The head displays… hmm… I can only watch with my eyes, because i don’t have the skills to modify/detail them… ^^;

EXkurogane,
sorry for the inconvenience caused during that period of time. ^^’ I was spending time fixing the website before relaunching it.
same here, I don’t have the skills like theirs yet, just have work harder and polish my skills until then in hope that I’ll will get better in future.

Yea I remember seeing them in a few shops in Hong Kong, and they were indeed pretty expensive!
I like how much the RX-79[G] head has changed – that’ll be my favourite out of all for now.

Q,
same here, and the only head I can find in Singapore is Turn-A.

They did a spectacular job – even though that S Gundam is a G Systems – I guess my only issue is the size of the Strike Rouge’s neck – a bit over sized.
Still all around awesome!

I agree with you on the S Gundam, not to mention the price tag for it as compared to the rest. And the RX-79G’s portion below the neck also looks abit oversized, disproportionate.

Love the Nu. It seems that no matter how or who modifies that Gundam, it always managed to look awesome ^^. I especially like the insignia on its v-crest.
Turn A is looking pretty badass there too… Kinda angry looking .

Yea, I really like the ‘angry’ look of Turn A, very menacing and awe-looking. Now that you mentioned it, I realised why I felt so ‘off’ when I read your MG Turn-A review, it’s not as menacing but looks rather harmless instead.

Ha, Z’s right, Turn A does have an angry look going on.
Erix93 (Who did the Nu Gundam) does an amazing job on just about anything he builds. I modeled my S Gundam after his (and fell utterly short).

Z was spot on, and he resolved my nagging feeling that I had whenever I looked at the MG Turn-A. Too harmless-looking!
His work is always a joy to look at and very inspiring as well. It’s people like them that spur us to further improve and aim higher.

Erix’s works never fails to impress. No matter how many times I see it I always find his level of detailing nothing but short of amazing…
And this is a great site by the way
Love the layout and contents. Bookmarked!

chubbybots, thanks for you support! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, although I have to point out at the same time, I haven’t been too productive over the couple of months. Hoping this will change after my exams are over in another 2 weeks’ time.
In addition, I’m also in the midst of adding something ‘new’ to offer something more relevant and useful to everyone which I will reveal in due, the technical portion and my exams are holding me back at the moment. Will address to it once everything is over.
