Gundam Exia by GMrevo

This wonderful Gundam Exia in trans-am mode masterpiece is done by GMrevo ( better known as Izakku81 in forums). It’s a modded 1/100 Exia, painted with Gaianotes (a good alternative to Gunze Sangyo paint and did I mention that it’s cheaper too, almost 1/2 the price) .
There have been some modifications, with the major ones done to the chest and hip area. The vertical portions on the chest for example, have been redone with epoxy into slightly larger and more angular pieces. The yellow v-fins
For the full details on the modifications made to the kit, I recommend you guys to read 1/100 EXCIA ver.izz with records of all the work-in-progress all detailed inside. This should prove useful and handy for those who wish to attempt something similar.
If you’re wondering how the purplish blue paint for the upper body is done, it is achieved using Gaianotes cobalt blue + purple + pink+ white surfacer and then shaded with purple.

Damn nice. No way i’ll be able to pick up such skills even in a decade…
And, i have the bad habit of being impatient -lazy to make extreme details and eager to finish my gunpla fast so that i can get new ones… ^^

Something looks out of place in the mod. Why does the Exia look as though it’s slouching & thrusting its hip outward when standing? I believe the hip joint’s strong enough to support Exia’s torso…it’s not as if it has an overly-robust upper body like Avalanche Exia.

Having metallic red revealed underneath the white armour reminds me of Unicorn’s destroy mode!

I’m sure that if we were to see the W.I.P, we’ll be able to put up a thing or 2. Sometimes, the problem is that we never done it before nor see it done in person, we are unable to try them ourselves confidently with the thoughts of failing or screwing-up constantly hanging in our mind. Hence, hindering any progress or improvement that could be made.

It looks fine from the fine but when viewed from the sides the hips look more prominent, especially with the way it slants outwards. So I guess it’s just the point of view where we view it from, otherwise it looks great.

I saw this a while ago, I think on zboard or zero-g forums. I loved the knees and shoulders. More interestingly, this is the same guy that won BAKUC 2007 (not sure which year actually) and built the PG Sinanju. Admirable work he does.

I like the purple-ish color to replace the plain blue for Exia. The pose somehow reminds me of Jojo Bizarre’s adventure’s posing style, body bending stand pose lolz.

Same here, I too prefer purple-ish to the conventional blue. The color is something I’m trying to recreate but no luck so far.
