5th, could you share with us his work report? or is it under the fichtenfoo’s WIP forum?

And I agree it might not feel realistic when you mix diorama with Gundams. With the primary reason being, there has yet to be a ‘real’ gundam walking around. Unlike military vehciles like tanks, aircrafts, etc, which feel more realistic because they have already ‘happened’. Though we have Odaiba Gundam statue up not so recently, but it still feels surreal and not realistic enough. Until we see more MSs around, it might take awhile before we feel that Gundams blend well with diorama.

Perharps these rules are applied so that other entries can have a chance and a shot at winning the top honours. If the winners from the other competitions are included, it would make it hard for others.

It might very well be possible and reality. Think of it this way, it’s kind of far-fetched to have so many ‘keys’ for so many MSs, given the cost of each of them. What would happen if the ‘keys’ were lost?

And to somewhat sum it up, if there is a will, there will definitely be a way for such theft to happen, more so if they were electronical.

Dioramas with the appropriate and right details added, really add life to the kits. I would definitely love to see Karl with a detailed work log of his project’s in-progress of how the entire diorama was conceptualize and constructed.

By the way, he is submitting this for BAKUC but not for Bandai World Gundam competition. If he made it for the latter, this would be a definite winner for me too. And I’m glad you all like it, will want to try and find more of these gems to share with everyone in future. :)

The custom color scheme definitely suits it much better than the EW scheme. Some other gundam designs of Wing are good but unfortunately they didn’t appear all at the same time. I personally like the original Heavyarms (the EW was meh, and the color scheme made it worse) and Sandrock was great too, with some tweaks to the proportions here and there, it would be wonderful like what Karl did for his Sandrock. The rest would be Tallgeese 1 and Eypon.

Same here, if I ever had the chance I also would want to try a diorama at least once, but my current skills are far from ideal to take on this sort of challenge .

Yes indeed, the realistic-looking base, human microfigures, damage/cracks/scratches are what make me so captivated with this diorama.

The primary reason was because he failed to make it before the deadline(1 Nov).

The other reason is, the local BAKUC rules bars him from joining this build in any local or international contest prior to the BAKUC itself. So even if he did make it before Nov 1, the rules would also prevent him from joining. I’m guessing what it means is that, you have to submit to BAKUC, finish the competition before you are allow to submit the same entry from other competitions.
